In DC it is illegal for young people under the age of 21 to possess, buy, grow, or consume marijuana.

However, DC’s Initiative 71 (AKA Legalization of Possession of Minimal Amounts of Marijuana for Personal Use Act of 2014) allows adults over the age of 21 to possess certain amounts of marijuana.
